The lower section of the handguard is installed in the same manner as the original part. 3 MIL STD 1913 Picatinny rails one full length lower and two side rails at just over 2 inches offer options for mounting Picatinny accessories such as lights/lasers vertical forward grips bipods and other rail mounted equipment. The two smaller side rails are easily removed should usage be not be required. The included rail cover can be attached to the lower rail to maintain the original design profile.
