Surface-walking plugs are huge in South Louisiana, particularly among anglers who target trophy-sized speckled trout, but nearly all of them are made of hard plastic. This soft-plastic lure is smaller than a MirrOlure Top Dog or Zara Spook, but it still weighs close to 1 ounce, and can be cast forever. The lure is less buoyant than traditional topwater plugs, which causes it to sit lower in the water. The manufacturer says that greatly reduces the number of times specks and reds are able to blow it out of the water without being impaled. Also, the supple nature of the plastic makes it feel more lifelike to feeding fish. VMC black-nickel hooks make it ready to fish out of the package.
