Savage® designed the A17 Semi-Auto Rimfire Rifle with a unique delayed-blowback action specifically to cycle the 17 HMR cartridge. A special lug locks the bolt in place for a millisecond, allowing most of the gases from burning powder to dissipate before the bolt starts its rearward motion. A steel receiver and a hard chromed bolt further enhance cycling reliability. Savage uses their Accutrigger™ on this semi-automatic rifle that allows the user to adjust the weight of pull according to individual preference. The blued steel barrel features button rifling to provide maximum accuracy needed for hitting small targets at long range. The Savage A17 Semi-Auto Rimfire Rifle comes with an ergonomic, weather resistant synthetic stock and Weaver®-style bases to mount an optical sight. The detachable rotary magazine holds 10 rounds. The Savage A17 takes varmint and predator hunting to the next level by allowing shooters to use the 17 HMR cartridge in a fast handling, fast shooting semi-auto.
